AIRKEEPERS: REGIONAL CITIZEN SCIENCE NETWORKS – CALVIN CUPINI, CLEAN AIR CAROLINA, NC, UNITED STATES

Clean Air Carolina (CAC) is establishing a statewide monitoring network in North Carolina designed to gather scientifically relevant particle pollution (PM2.5) data and connect communities with information needed to protect their health and advocate for change. CAC is aiming to have sensors installed in all 100 of North Carolina’s counties by the end of 2019 and planning to build a community level monitoring network. CAC will host meetings through February 2020 to educate community members in air quality basics and health impacts, creating a foundation of citizen science.
