BRIDGING SCIENCE, ART, AND COMMUNITY IN THE NEW ARCTIC – CLAIRE GRIFFIN, UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA

Few efforts have been made to address how environmental, infrastructure, and cultural aspects of the Arctic change together nor to bring students of the Artic to research institutions. This project seeks to bring Artic youth into the conversation around these issues. Young people from Arctic communities will travel to the University of Virginia for a three-day workshop, where they will be integral to providing insight into the concerns of Arctic peoples and creating an action plan. Following the workshop, participants would travel to Alaska to share the action plan with the community.
