CLIMATEPEDIA STUDENT CERTIFICATE PROGRAM – GIANNA LUM, UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA IRVINE

Climatepedia is a nonprofit organization founded in 2011 by undergraduate students at UCLA with the mission to communicate the risks and solutions of a changing climate in a simple way. Climatepedia spreads awareness about climate change through our website, our meme page on Instagram, and through the Student Certificate Program. This project will expand Climatepedia’s Student Certificate program to educate approximately 240 interns in climate literacy in an inclusive program that allows people to further their education without being in a classroom setting. The 12-week climate education program consists of weekly readings and videos, followed by an online conference call with the entire cohort and a Climatepedia staff member.
