PLASTICS PROBLEM: RIVER IN A BOX’ EXHIBIT AND RES – ANNIE OCKELFORD, UNIVERSITY OF BRIGHTON

While there has been significant media attention on the issue of plastics in the ocean, the similar problem of plastics in the river network has received less notice. This project will add microplastics to a ‘River in a Box’ exhibit to demonstrate how these particles can be transported to the ocean and how events like flood can play a role. The exhibit will be displayed at four national events over the course of six months. In addition to the exhibit, education resources, including a podcast, will be developed for 11-18-year-olds.
