TAKING WETLAND CONSERVATION TO SECONDARY SCHOOLS – LOIS OYINDAMOLA EWENLA, LAGOS STATE UNIVERSITY

Although Lagos State has an abundance of aquatic resources, wetland ecology is not a well-promoted subject in secondary schools. This project would engage secondary school students in twelve schools in outreach programs coinciding with major environmental days. The outreach programs will include both a lecture component and printed materials, such as pamphlets, encouraging students to take agriculture and ecology courses in university. The program will run for seven months and conclude in February 2020 on World Wetland Day.
