THE FUTURE OF NIGER DELTA: BIOREMEDIATION APPLICATION AND AWARENESS – WALIU BABATUNDE, OSUN STATE, NIGERIA

Theft of crude oil, known as bunkering, is a significant problem in Nigeria and threatens biodiversity, food security, and human safety. The project aims to mitigate these threats through a two-part process. The first step will focus on educating communities of the importance of this issue, especially as related to the health of people and the Earth. The second step will teach locals how to apply bioremediation techniques to polluted sites in their own communities, so they have the knowledge and resources to respond to the problem.
