THE ROLE OF WOMEN IN DISASTER RISK MANAGEMENT – ANWAN, HENRY ROBERT, OGUN STATE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, IGBESA, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA

Women’s participation and perspectives are important at all levels of environmental decision-making for socio-economic development as they are important stakeholders in achieving disaster risk management and disproportionally affected by disasters. This outreach seminar aims at discussing the role of women in disaster management with women in Ogun State in south-western Nigeria. The goal of this program is to encourage women to take up decision making roles in disaster risk governance so they can help design and implement policies, plans, and standards for disaster risk management.
