The island of Nevis depends on its travel and tourism sector for a quarter of its GDP. However, the island’s key tourist attractions are at risk of weather-related disasters, such as hurricanes and floods. This project seeks to strengthen disaster resilience in the Nevis tourism sector through education on predictors of disaster resilience and developing tourism sector networks as well as high-level plans for members of the tourism sector to improve organizational disaster resilience. A two-day workshop will be held to bring together all stakeholders to discuss these issues.
