This project will work to create an inclusive environment for LGBTQ individuals and allies by organizing a winter camp for members of the LGBTQinSTEM Interest Group at the University of Lagos (UNILAG). It will develop and support an inclusive understanding of gender and sexuality through advocacy, mentorship, and support for LGBTQIA+-identified students and developing student knowledge and leadership skills. Discussion during the camp will touch on the unique experiences or challenges encountered by queer people in STEM and prepare LGBTQinSTEM graduate students to be agents against discriminatory, harsh working condition in Nigeria.
