The project is based on a musical-scientific idea developed by an Italian team of geologists, geophysicists, and musicians named ElectroMagnetic Music (EMusic – https://emusic.world). This project is the sonification of Transient EM data, usually collected by geologists to investigate the subsurface and will spread this technology to a wide audience in a fun and interesting way. The installation will open with a presentation by two geologists, last 6 hours, and will play EM waves from formations at depths of hundreds of meters and from millions of years ago. The desired outcome is to bring the public closer to geophysics and geology.
