The event will begin with a meet and mingle exclusively for LGBTQ in STEM to identify some of the major issues facing the field. Following that, there will be an open mic where STEMist LGBTQ+ members can volunteer to give short, publicly accessible talks about their ongoing research work and discuss solutions to some the field’s issues. Media will also be present so the event can be broadcast, hopefully starting to help forge a greater sense of community in STEMist.
