This project will create new science outreach products by bringing artists, storytellers, and scientists together on the topic of permafrost, the world of underground ice, soil, and bacteria. There are four finalist projects that present science to a range of audiences in innovative and non-traditional ways: 1) an audiobook/podcast/sound art project; 2) a circus project; 3) an illustration project; 4) an art installation/performance project. The art products will be finalized during the spring of 2020 and will tell engaging stories of permafrost state and fate related to climate change to new audiences. The project also aims to share new models for collaborations for future science-arts projects.
