This project will design and test a crowdsourced wildfire early-warning system with the help of local high school students recruited from next year's JeffCon STEM event. The system would utilize current home and business security cameras facing high-risk forest area and retrain existing image recognition technology currently used for snowfall totals to recognize smoke plumes instead. The program will then be handed off to fire fighters initially in California and Colorado.
