This project will inspire Nigerian students to proceed with, complete their education and consider a STEM career pathway by sparking an interest in STEM through weeklong, hands-on, space-science workshops. This project will utilize the concept of scientific but people-oriented education (SPOE) as described in published research. Through workshops beginning in June after the school year, the desired outcome is a drop in the rates of students’ dropout and increase the pool of the STEM workforce.
